Countertop Installation

We have been installing countertops since 1991 and are a full service counter fabrication contractor specializing in both residential and commercial applications.

Solid Surface Counter Installation

Countertop installation with solid surface materials, such as Corian, HI-MACS, or Avonite, is a highly specialized process designed to ensure a seamless, durable, and attractive result. Solid surface materials are engineered from a blend of acrylic or polyester resins and natural minerals, and they are known for being non-porous, hygienic, and easily repairable.

The installation process begins after the countertops have been fabricated according to precise templates taken from the installation site. These templates account for all dimensions, cutouts, and design features, ensuring the fabricated pieces will fit perfectly.

Before installation, the existing countertops (if any) are removed and the cabinetry is inspected. The base cabinets must be level, sturdy, and properly anchored, as they provide the structural support for the new surface. Adjustments are made if needed to accommodate the new material.

The solid surface countertop pieces are then brought in and dry-fitted to check for accuracy. Once confirmed, the sections are joined together using a proprietary color-matched adhesive. Unlike natural stone, solid surface materials allow for seamless bonding. After the adhesive cures, the seams are sanded flush, making them virtually invisible. This seamless integration is one of the key aesthetic and functional benefits of solid surface countertops.

During installation, integrated features such as backsplashes, sinks, or drainboards—often fabricated as part of the countertop—are also installed. Solid surface sinks can be bonded directly to the underside of the countertop, creating a smooth, easy-to-clean transition with no lip or seam.

After everything is bonded and aligned, the surface is sanded and finished to the desired sheen, whether matte, satin, or high-gloss. The installer will also reconnect any plumbing and apply caulk or sealant where needed, particularly around walls or appliances.

The entire installation process typically takes one to two days, depending on the size and complexity of the project. Once complete, the solid surface countertop is ready for use—offering a sleek, modern, and low-maintenance finish that can last for decades with proper care.
